Do you love cats and want to make a real difference? Whether you have a few hours each month or are able to offer a spare room to a cat in need, we’d love to hear from you.

StraySafe Rescue is entirely volunteer-run. Every cat we rescue is only possible because of the incredible people who give their time, skills and homes to help them. Without volunteers, we simply couldn’t continue our work.

We welcome volunteers aged 18 and over. As we work with live animals, all volunteers are required to follow our policies, procedures and safety guidelines.

Ways You Can Help

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities to suit different skills, experience and availability, including:

🐱 Fostering cats and kittens
Provide a safe, temporary home for a cat until they find their forever family. This is one of our most important volunteer roles and allows us to rescue more cats in need. All food, litter, equipment and veterinary care are provided, along with ongoing support from our team. Fostering is incredibly rewarding, offers valuable voluntary experience, and if you later decide you’d like to adopt your foster cat, that’s absolutely possible through our adoption process.

🏡 Home Checking
Help ensure our cats are matched with suitable homes by carrying out adoption home checks. Full training and support are provided.

🚗 Transport
Assist with transporting cats to and from veterinary appointments, foster homes and other rescue-related journeys.

📢 Fundraising & Marketing
Help organise fundraising events, create social media content, engage with the community and raise awareness of our work.

💙 General Volunteering
There are plenty of other ways to help behind the scenes, from administration to supporting fundraising events and special projects.
